The DRYAD Project will host a Regional Workshop on May 6, 2025, in Mérida, Spain. Organized by DRYAD’s Spanish partners, ICATALIST, Universidad de Extremadura (UEX), and FEDEHESA, the event will take place at the university center of Mérida. This workshop forms part of DRYAD’s ongoing efforts to promote Nature-based Solutions (NbS) by bridging research, innovation, and local engagement across Europe.

The event will bring together key stakeholders from the agricultural sectors of Extremadura and Andalusia, two of DRYAD’s demonstration regions where the project is actively testing and implementing NbS to address pressing environmental challenges. The workshop aims to foster dialogue and collaboration to enhance the development and effectiveness of these solutions.

The agenda includes an introduction to the DRYAD Project and its 14 proposed Nature-based Solutions, a stakeholder survey to collect perspectives and expectations regarding NbS, a discussion session on the benefits and limitations of the proposed approaches, and a presentation of DRYAD’s community of practice, designed to support continued collaboration and knowledge exchange. Take a look at the agenda here.

This regional workshop represents a significant step toward advancing nature-based solutions and strengthening collaborative networks that support sustainable land use and climate resilience in Mediterranean ecosystems.
