As part of the 2026 EU Green Week partner events and in recognition of World Environment Day, DRYAD co-organised the webinar “Nature-Based and Systemic Climate Solutions: A Joint Horizon Europe Showcase” on 5 June 2026. The online event brought together four Horizon Europe projects — DRYAD, PRECILIENCE, TRANSFORM and ClimaPannonia — to exchange knowledge and showcase innovative approaches to climate adaptation and resilience across Europe's agricultural and forest landscapes.
The webinar attracted strong interest, with 86 registered participants and 56 attendees joining the live session from across Europe.
Moderated by Yara Shennan-Farpón (ICATALIST), a partner of the DRYAD Project and an active member of MIP4Adapt, the event provided a dynamic platform for discussion and collaboration among projects addressing climate challenges through nature-based and systemic approaches.
Showcasing Horizon Europe Solutions for Climate Resilience
The webinar was structured into two main sessions.
The first part featured a series of project pitches, where representatives from each of the four Horizon Europe projects presented their objectives, ongoing activities, and key achievements. Participants gained insights into how the projects are addressing climate adaptation challenges in different regional contexts, while promoting sustainable agriculture, resilient forestry systems, ecosystem restoration, and innovative land management practices.
Through these presentations, attendees discovered a diverse range of solutions and methodologies being developed and tested across Europe, highlighting the value of collaboration among projects working towards common climate goals.
Panel Discussion on Key Challenges and Opportunities
The second part of the webinar consisted of an open and interactive panel discussion, bringing together experts from all four projects to explore shared challenges, lessons learned, and future opportunities for collaboration.
The discussion focused on four key themes:
- Exploiting agro-ecology as an approach to enhance the climate resilience of the farming system
- Improving resilience of the agriculture and /or forestry sector including the improvement of soil by circular approaches
- Development of more natural ecosystems, generating combined benefits for climate mitigation
- Demonstrate and increase awareness of the value of maintaining and restoring existing natural systems
The exchange generated valuable reflections on how research, innovation, and stakeholder engagement can support more resilient landscapes and communities in the face of increasing climate risks.
Strengthening Collaboration Across Europe
As sister projects involved in the MIP4Adapt community and active contributors to NetworkNature, DRYAD, PRECILIENCE, TRANSFORM and ClimaPannonia share a common commitment to accelerate climate adaptation through knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaboration.
The webinar demonstrated the importance of creating spaces where projects can connect, share experiences, and identify synergies that strengthen the overall impact of Horizon Europe investments in climate resilience.
DRYAD was proud to contribute to this joint initiative and looks forward to continuing collaboration with partners and stakeholders across Europe to advance nature-based and systemic solutions for climate adaptation.
